his master bedroom was void of color, design, and style. My clients were ready to toss everything old and dated, and replace it with a completely new sophisticated polished look. Hip-hip-hooray!
he first thing we did was reorient the furniture layout to best fit the lines of the room. We positioned the bed on the adjacent wall between the two very small windows, and then hung our window treatments higher and wider than the actual windows to make them more to scale with the rest of the room and create a true focal wall. We found the furniture at Restoration Hardware which took up the bulk of our budget, but then I got lucky and found all the gorgeous linen fabrics for the drapes and bedding for $3.99/yrd (it’s almost IDENTICAL to last years Pottery Barn line! I was GIDDY!). To add some final drama, we painted the ceiling a deep, rich, smoky blue which brought down the height of the ceiling and gave the room instant warmth!
